FURADONIN AVEXIMA is an antimicrobial drug, a derivative belonging to nitrofurans group, which is primarily indicated for treatment of urinary tract infections.


It disrupts protein synthesis in bacteria and cell membrane permeability. It is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Shigella dysenteria spp., Shigella flexneri spp., Shigella boydii spp., Shigella sonnei spp., Escherichia coli., Proteus spp.).

Indications for use:

  • bacterial infections of urinary tract:

    — cyctitis;
    — urethritis;
    — pyelitis;
    — pyelonephritis;

  • prophylaxis of infections during urologic surgeries or examinations (cystoscopy, catheterization, etc.).
Method of administration

For oral use, with large amount of water.

Dosing schedule:

For adults:
0.1-0.15 g 3-4 times daily;
The highest doses for adults:
a single dose - 0.3 g;
a daily dose - 0.6 g.

In acute urinary tract infections, the treatment duration is 7-10 days.

Prophylactic, anti-relapse treatment lasts for 3-12 months depending on the disease nature. In such case, the daily dose is 1-2 mg/kg.

For children over 3 years old:

calculated as 5-8 mg/kg/day.
The daily dose is divided into 4 intakes.

It is important to remember that: food intake increases the medicinal product bioavailability.

Shelf life:

4 years. Do not use after the expiry date.
