BENZONAL is an antiepileptic agent, it has practically no hypnotic action. The medicinal product enhances the inhibitory GABAergic effects in central nervous system, especially in thalamus, ascending activating reticular formation of the brain stem at the level of interneurons. By reducing the permeability of nerve fibre membranes for Na+ it decreases the distribution of pulses from the seizure pattern focus. The effect is observed 20-60 min after oral administration.
- Indications for use:

- epilepsy of various origin;
- generalized and partial seizures
- epileptic syndrome;
- focal seizures, including Jacksonian epilepsy, Kojewnikoff epilepsy;
- petit mal (non-convulsive).
- Method of administration and posology:

For oral administration, after the meal, 3 times daily.
For adults:
Single dose: 0.1-0.15-0.2 g;
maximal single dose - 0.3 g,
maximal daily dose - 0.8 g.
The treatment course is continuous and prolonged, not less than 2 years.
The dosing schedule is individual and prescribed by doctor!
- For children:
For children aged 3-6 years:
single dose — 0.025–0.05 g
daily dose — 0.1–0.15 g;
For children aged 7-10 years
single dose — 0.05–0.1 g
daily dose — 0.15–0.3 g;
For children aged 11-14 years
single dose — 0.1 g
daily dose — 0.3–0.4 g;
For older children
maximal single dose — 0.15 g;
maximal daily dose — 0.45 g- Shelf life:

4 years. Do not use after the expiry date.
